Born in Space is an experiment based on static projection images and shadow acting with music. Everything is happening here and now in a special rhythm. Trying to slow the passage of time. And to show infinity of space. conventionality of human existence. Like meditation. Join if you feel the same...

"We are all guests on this planet. We come to visit her and will come back to endless space. We can't bring anything and can't take anything with us. Just the light. Our own light... Last century showed us that human race forgot about it. We want more and more. And we lost contact with our planet and also with ourselves. In we leave our planet that will live after us... Chernobil and Fukusima and thousands of other catastrophes giving radiation and chemical destruction for next generations. Do we need more signs?"

"I was born in space. I spent my childhood there. Especially, I liked to be ill and after recovering as if to be born again. At that time all seemed new, more genuine. I also liked spring because then I could fly in my dreams. My mother said that I was growing and I really was. I was hiding on the roof from spring thunders. I was gathering maple and birch juice in a huge glass jar. At that time it seemed to me I would live forever and the whole world was created just to amuse and interest me. By the way, it was like that. But the jar overflow and the juice became gray and bitter. For the first time in my life I felt that some day I will die. I wanted to hide but couldn't find any suitable asylum. I tried to find somehow the situation but neither assiduous eyes closing, neither holding of breath, neither running the round, nor lurking on the roof didn't give me the desired result. Time was passing by. Every morning I woke up realising the terrible thought that time keeps going by. And there was nothing I could do."

Mykola Bondarchuk (Ukraine, 1977) is a performing artist, TV and Cinema Director based in Kiev. He studied at the Kiev State University of Theatre Cinema and Television and got his Master's degree in TV and Cinema Directing. Meanwhile he started his training in acting at Theatre Black Square (Kiev), DAH Theatre (Kiev) and participated in various independent theatre projects as a performer, playwrite and visual (video/ photo projection) artist. He developed his knowledge in projection at Moving Academy for Performing Arts (MAPA) then completed the MAPA educational program and got his Master's Diploma.
